Numerous vistas of outstanding natural attractions are along this U.S. Forest Service Scenic Byway, which climbs from 2,000 ft. to 6,500 ft. A major portion of the route follows the path of early miners and settlers.
Navigating the Byway:
The Trinity Heritage Scenic Byway begins on Highway 3 in Weaverville. Follow Highway 3 into the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. You'll go past Clair Engle Lake on the right (east) until the junction of Highway 3 and Gazelle Callahan Rd. Take Gazelle Callahan Road (the right-hand fork), and continue until it joins Old Highway 99. You'll exit the National Forest just before you reach Edgewood.
