Located between the Cuyamaca Reservoir and Laguna Junction, this U.S. Forest Service scenic byway provides views of mountain meadows, forests and the Anza-Borrego Desert 6,000 feet below.

Navigating the Byway:

From Interstate 8 take County Road S1. The byway winds around Laguna Mountain Recreation Area and ends at the junction with State Route 79. The byway can also be entered from the north on State Route 79 about eight miles south of Julian.
