Dear r/football Community, We've noticed an increasing number of low-effort posts, banter, and simple questions that are affecting the quality of our subreddit. To address this issue and enhance the overall experience for all football enthusiasts, we are implementing a new approach. Starting Today: Weekly Discussion Thread: We are introducing a dedicated Weekly Discussion Thread where you can freely share banter, simple questions, statements, and other low-effort content. Some examples of low effort posts that will no longer be allowed to be their own thread and should be in the weekly thread. Best ______ (game, goal, position, starting lineup) etc. Best XI What is your opinion on _____________? Messi/Ronaldo posts Who is better x or y posts. Who will win the league, champions league, finish top 4, be relegated etc... posts. Who is underrated/overrated posts. What team should I cheer for? How do I illegally stream games for free? Has this __________ ever happened before? Questions about rules Posts about equipment, or how to improve should be in /r/bootroom. Outside of the Weekly Thread: Posts outside of the weekly thread should be substantial efforts, such as in-depth analyses or extensive discussions that can't be accommodated in the weekly thread. We kindly urge our community to collaborate with us on this initiative. Together, we can transform r/football into a premier destination for high-quality football discussions. Thank you for your support in making r/football the best place for football fans worldwide! Best regards, The r/football Mod Team submitted by /u/Commandant1 [link] [comments]

People are judging Arteta like he is manging Real Madrid. There is no way a manger who is second of the league , made a 84 season and a 89 one and lost the league in the last matches is treated like a manger who fight in the relegation zone. His signings are absolutely terrible, but to say he is failure is crazy. submitted by /u/Due-Season-6625 [link] [comments]

Loads of funny stories about Brian Clough on YT. One of the great characters of football and known as one of the best man managers. Like Ferguson, maybe he used fear as a motivator in an environment where egos need to be brought down? I can't imagine the success he had at Notts Forrest will ever be repeated, but then again his style didn't seem to go down well at Leeds. So much so that he only lasted just over a month there. Why was that? Was it partly because Leeds were a renowned physical side? Some say he was a great tactician, others basically not great. Was Peter Taylor the tactics side of things, or was Clough great in his own right? submitted by /u/Other_Attention_2382 [link] [comments]

I'm watching a game now and wondering about hypothetic situation: At the moment of pass player closest to goal (let's say Striker) would be just behind border line of pitch - close to goal - so outside play zone. Let's say the pass is long enough to allow him to return to pitch (or Striker runs super quickly), receive the pass and be on superbly comfortable situation. Nobody is playing like that so i guess it's against rules.....but why? Aren't offsides only within pitch? submitted by /u/elcin666 [link] [comments]

Hi Kramaric has scored +10 goal in the bundesliga for 7 seasons & hat a -10 goals only at two season did he got offer or not ? or just kramaric prefered to stay at top 11 rather than a substitute in a time that has only played a one ucl in the last 20 years for fun : i've bought kramaric at career mode in fifa 19 when i was managing marseille & he was the best player for me even that i have played with many +85 taing players submitted by /u/RegularAd2850 [link] [comments]
I think that after Reece James's goal in Chelsea's recent match we have to accept he is up with the likes of Cafu and Carlos Alberto. (Meme but this is how Chelsea fans are like). submitted by /u/Im-here-so-hello [link] [comments]
