Ahead of the final day, here is a small programme to guide you through the battle for 12th, as well as a look back on the recent winners of the fabled cup. May mediocrity be ever in your favour. submitted by /u/LapwingJack [link] [comments]

Before Muslic started digging out the board (rightly imo, whatever his motives) I thought there would be a great atmosphere Saturday. Been great banter between Leeds and Argyle the last 2 seasons. If you pump us it might get a bit sour. Hopefully it’s a good game; we perform; you win; we can all laugh at FT and let us have a lap of honour/ farewell, and we’ll clear out and let you party. Hope for your sakes you stay up, but if we can bounce back I wouldn’t be sad to have you back from a selfish point of view. Safe travels to everyone coming down. submitted by /u/RBDOO [link] [comments]

I'll go first... Back in 1977 in the old 1st Division, Coventry and Bristol City played each other on the final day of the season. Due to the traffic, the match was postponed by 5 minutes to allow the Bristol City fans time to get in. By the 85th minute it was 2-2 and news came down that Sunderland had lost their game to Everton. For the last 5 minutes, Bristol City passed the ball around at the back while Cov sat back and watched, making no attempt to press. A point each was enough to keep both clubs in the top flight and send Sunderland into relegation on the final day. An appeal by Sunderland was filed and dismissed. I think the best narrative from a story view would be Sunderland beat Bristol City in the semis and win against Coventry in the final, getting revenge on both teams that conspired to send them down almost 50 years ago! Source https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_City_2%E2%80%932_Bristol_City_(1977) Are there any other movies that could play out based on the teams who are still eligible to make the playoffs? Good luck tomorrow everyone!!! submitted by /u/HughPhoenix [link] [comments]
With the Championship season almost over, it’s time to look back on it and remember the best and worst experiences from it! I’ve come up with these six different awards for you; your job is to choose which player and team deserves each of them. Rules: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN TEAM OR ONE OF ITS PLAYERS. Your choices should be based on the team/player’s performances against your team or just the stuff that’s happened with them this season - so for example you could vote Plymouth for Most Likeable Team because of their cup run, or you could vote for Milutin Osmajic as Most Likeable Player because you’ve suffered a head injury. These are the awards: ❤️ Most Likeable Team 😍 Most Likeable Player ⚽ Best Team 🌟 Most Talented Player 😠 Least Likeable Team 👎 Least Likeable Player Enjoy choosing your favourites! Put ‘em all down in the comments :) submitted by /u/Anonymoose3840 [link] [comments]

Who was like a 12th opposing player, who cost you essential points in important games, or who is famously bad for ruining games in general, whatever the result? Are there particular ones that stand out as problematic? How does everyone feel about the general standard of the officials in the Championship? Are there any you have complete confidence in, think are excellent, and are happy the match is in good hands? Please keep it civil and polite. IMHO, with the likes of Oliver Langford, and Sam Allison, we need VAR ASAP. submitted by /u/PrometheusIsFree [link] [comments]

(Well, I deleted the original post because the topic was so fucking bad.) I met two different players in town last month makes me think it's easy to see them outside of football. Especially in small cities like Cardiff. We are both with our friend/partners so I decided not to say hello. But I would imagine many of us will talk to them if they have the opportunity. Do they like this sort of interaction? And do you have any interesting story to share? submitted by /u/Jltc8431 [link] [comments]
As an Oxford fan that’s spent the past 9 months stressing about the threat of relegation, it was a surprise to be reminded last week that we’ve only spent one gameweek in the relegation zone. So then it got me thinking about who has spent the most time there, who might “deserve to go down”, and who might escape having been there for ages. So I made the ugly chart you can see above, also including call-outs for when teams new managers had their first game. Things that stood out: Plymouth, Luton and Cardiff have spent the most time in the bottom three. 2/3 already relegated. New manager bounce - no guarantee of success. Portsmouth deserve credit for keeping faith with Mousinho. I forgot QPR were in the bottom three for that long? Half the teams in the league have been in the bottom three at some point this season. Two of the teams that have been in the bottom three have an opportunity to get promoted! submitted by /u/SignificantPoem3763 [link] [comments]

An unfortunate typo in the met a footballer thread from yesterday got me thinking. Who is the best looking player in the champ? I’ll say Roberts but maybe that’s bias submitted by /u/Fine_Structure5396 [link] [comments]

I think expectations are high especially for Birmingham and a top half finish is a great season. They will both obviously spend but championship is a different beast… submitted by /u/Illustrious-Mix-9151 [link] [comments]
I don't know if I buy it, it would need some big FFP and PSR breaches for them to do such a thing. submitted by /u/jrbill1991 [link] [comments]
