The Black bear Forge shop needs a new back door. But I wasn't going to be satisfied with just any door. This Pine door is inspired by one seen just outside of Taos new Mexico. I'm not sure if the perfect blacksmiths vise actually exists. Even Francis Whitaker commented that slipping was a constant problem. This simple window grille is one of the signature elements for the new shop door. This smaller and lighter grille is forged and fabricated. The smaller stock dimensions would have made a more traditional mortise and tenon assembly fairly weak and a welded approach seemed the better idea.
