Sydney Sweeney is back on the market following her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino. “Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that the Euphoria actress is “telling friends she is single.” Earlier this month, Sweeney, 27, sparked breakup rumors when she deleted a post of Davino, 41, off her social media. An additional insider later told Us that Sweeney and Davino’s wedding plans had come to a “halt.” “They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” the second source claimed. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.” Celebrity Splits of 2025: Stars Who Have Called It Quits This Year Days later, Sweeney was spotted with her Anyone But You costar — and friend — Glen Powell at a restaurant in Dallas. (A source told Us at the time that the pair are “just friends.”) Sweeney and Davino first sparked dating rumors in 2018. Four years later, Us Weekly confirmed their engagement in March 2022. Over the years, Sweeney kept her relationship with the restaurateur relatively private, though she did offer a rare glimpse into their dynamic in December 2023. “I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” she told Glamour U.K. at the time. “What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up and then tear them down.” TheStewartofNY/GC Images After Sweeney became famous, she recognized a “crazy” conversation started online about her love life. “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me. I’m very open [otherwise],” she explained. “I talk about so much and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.” Sweeney claimed a false narrative of her romance with Davino had played out for “six years” and revealed the pair had recently become “producing partners.” “It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision and your voice,” she said. “And it’s nice. I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time? … I just wanted to bring everybody into my world.” Earlier that month, Sweeney told Entertainment Tonight that she and Davino had not set a wedding date yet because she was “so busy working,” adding, “I’m a workaholic and I love it, I love it.” In October 2024, Sweeney “set the record” straight about considering herself and Davino equals. Sydney Sweeney and Fiance Jonathan Davino’s Relationship Timeline “You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man,” she told Glamour. “We’re teammates. We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.” Amid Sweeney and Davino’s engagement, rumors surfaced that she was having an affair with Powell. The actors ultimately denied they were more than friends, but a source told Us in May 2023 that the situation led to “a huge test of [her] relationship” with Davino. Sweeney previously divulged in a February 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan that dating “people in the spotlight” was a dealbreaker for her. “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest,” she said. “I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day.”

Jessica Biel remembers that awkward almost-kiss with on screen brother Barry Watson during the 7th Heaven pilot — but she thinks the original script had them go even farther than what made it to the final edit. “I do think we shot it. I think, at the time, everyone was [thinking], ‘This isn’t really gonna work!’” Biel, 43, confessed during the Sunday, March 30, episode of the “Catching Up With the Camdens” podcast. “Everybody seemed to think this was not the best move for these siblings on this show.” The podcast’s latest 7th Heaven rewatch featured hosts David Gallagher, Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman reuniting with Biel to reflect on their early days working together. The 1996 episode, “Anything You Want,” features an uncomfortable moment where Mary Camden (Biel) asks her older brother Matt (Watson) to teach her how to kiss a boy. Matt seems uncomfortable with Mary’s demand, but they are interrupted before kissing by their father, Reverend Eric Camden (Stephen Collins). ‘7th Heaven’ Cast Reunites 17 Years After Series Finale “This isn’t what it looks like,” Matt tells his dad, with Eric responding, “That’s a relief.” The pilot underwent extensive changes between filming and airing on TV, leading to confusion over whether Biel and Watson shot an alternate version of the scene where they actually kissed. Bill Reitzel / ©Spelling Prod. / Courtesy Everett Collection “We’ve been talking about it,” Mitchell, 44, admitted to Biel in their podcast reunion. “We thought [there was a kiss] but we know it never made it to air. I couldn’t remember if you guys actually had to shoot it?” The actress quipped,, “Honestly, I don’t know if that was real or not,” before admitting that her “14-year-old self” was probably excited by the chance to shoot a kissing scene with her older costar. Mitchell later pointed out that Biel had “a few makeout scenes” with guest stars throughout 7th Heaven’s first season. “I mean, someone had to do it,” Biel teased. This isn’t the first time the awkward sibling moment has been addressed by the cast since going viral online. In March 2024, Watson told 7th Heaven fans during a ‘90s Con panel in Hartford, Connecticut that executive producer Aaron Spelling came up with Mary and Matt’s kissing scene. ‘7th Heaven’ Cast Address Stephen Collins’ Sexual Abuse: 'Inexcusable' “I knew then, I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this,’” Waston, 50, remembered. “And I found out from [Brenda Hampton], the creator, that it was Aaron that insisted on having that scene. That was the only time I ever questioned Aaron’s creativity because I always think, ‘This would never happen.’” He insisted the duo had not “made out” for the scene, but then quipped, “Of course, back then, Jessie probably wouldn’t have minded.” On Sunday’s “Catching Up With the Camdens,” Biel also reflected on another embarrassing moment on the 7th Heaven set when she reminded her costars about the time she damaged their school trailer. “I popped the clutch in my parents’ Subaru when I had my learner’s permit, not my real license. And I flew backwards and reversed into Mackenzie’s school trailer and busted it off its supports. Broke the computer,” she recalled. “The computer got smashed, my parents’ car got smashed and I almost hit my brother [Justin Biel],” Biel conceded. Stephen Collins Is Dating Fan 40 Years Younger After Child Sex Abuse Scandal Biel was on 7th Heaven for its first six seasons, before leaving the show after landing a starring role in the reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a supporting part in Marvel’s Blade: Trinity. Biel made guest appearances on 7th Heaven several times after quitting the show, having last appeared in the season 10 finale “…And Thank You (Part 2).” The 2006 installment was originally envisioned as the last-ever 7th Heaven episode — and, thus, also brought back Gallagher and Watson — but the show was ultimately renewed for one more season when The WB and UPN combined into The CW in 2006.

2025 is a big year for TV — but which shows do we definitely know are coming back for more seasons? Apple TV+ surprised viewers by renewing Bad Monkey after the ending left the show’s future unclear. Based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen, Bad Monkey follows former police detective Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) who gets demoted to a restaurant inspector before getting sucked into a murder investigation when a severed arm is pulled out of the water. While Bad Monkey seemingly wrapped up every story line, there was still hope. Natalie Martinez, who plays Rosa a.k.a Yancy’s love interest, exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2024 that “the possibilities are endless” before addressing the main couple’s shocking onscreen split. “There’s a lot of love between Rosa and Yancy. He’s helped her in so many ways and there’s definitely this great friendship there,” she shared. “They’re very fond of each other and at that moment he says, ‘It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.’ So I think the possibilities are kind of endless there — where they’re a part of each other’s pivotal moment.” Rivals on Hulu is another show that will get more time to explore the story. Season 1 introduced a feud between two men fighting for control of a television station in 1980s Britain, but it was ultimately the age gap romance between Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella MacLean) — and Declan’s (Aidan Turner) presence — that won fans over. “I’m really intrigued. There’s so many obstacles in our way and Rupert is really conflicted morally. I wonder what will happen now with Taggie,” MacLean exclusively told Us in December 2024 about Rupert and Taggie’s future. “It will be a lot more bumpy, but what that means for Taggie is a really interesting thing. There’s loads of ideas being thrown around. We’ve got to get season 2 fast.”
Vivica A. Fox isn’t ready to wrap up her guest stint on Poppa’s House just yet — not when she could be involved in an onscreen love triangle with Damon Wayans Sr. and Essence Atkins instead. “I’m waiting on that call to be very honest with you,” Fox, 60, exclusively told Us Weekly. “Because at […]
“Because at first it wasn’t written and we did the table read and he was like, ‘Oh no, I’m writing some more. We’re not seeing you just once. No way.'” Fox would come back to Poppa’s House in a heartbeat, adding, “So I hope I get the invitation to come back. I would welcome it with open arms. I really would.” During the Monday, March 31, episode of Poppa’s House, Fox was introduced as Judge Say Wha?!, who forms a surprising connection with Poppa (Wayans Sr.). An argument between Junior (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Poppa turns into a day in court, which is when Judge Say Wha?! gets involved and shows a very obvious preference for the patriarch. Which Iconic TV Love Triangles Should Have Just Been a Throuple? “The beautiful thing is I know the entire [Wayans] family and I’ve worked with the entire family. So believe it or not, that chemistry was at the table read,” she recalled. “Everybody was rolling because Damon was just flirting.” Robert Voets/CBS Fox said her chemistry with Wayans Sr., 64, was instantaneous. “It literally just grew the week of rehearsals and then finally taping. We had automatic chemistry,” she explained. “I just think this is because I know the family so well and they’re just awesome. It’s a well-oiled machine over there at Poppa’s House.” After working with five members of the Wayans family on screen, Fox said she jumped at the chance to reunite with the prolific family. “There’s no ego at all. Everyone literally checks their egos at the door,” Fox shared with Us. “What they are there for is to just make the funniest and most creative show possible. Sometimes when you do comedies, the director and the writers are very married to the words and sometimes it can hamper creativity when it’s that way. But you didn’t feel that at all [on Poppa’s House].” Vivica A. Fox and Damon Wayans Sr. Sonja Flemming/CBS Fox isn’t the only one who has a history with the Wayans family. Atkins, 53, who plays Ivy, has also worked with the Wayans’ before joining Poppa’s House as Poppa’s love interest. “The truth of the matter is that it’s always going to be an immediate yes when I hear ‘Wayans.’ This is my sixth project with that family. I have met all of them at this point and worked with the majority of them,” Atkins previously told Us. “I really wanted to work with Damon Wayans Jr. again [after Dance Flick] and I had always wanted to work with Damon Wayans, so that’s really all I needed to know. It was an immediate yes.” Best Love Triangles in TV and Movie History Over the Years Atkins says she’s not in a rush to see Ivy and Poppa get together. “Initially when we were beginning the series, we thought it would happen sooner. But I think that there’s something really beautiful about them becoming friends first and that they really grow in respect for one another and admiration for one another,” she explained at the time. “Also in being able to see behind the curtain of one another, they have a little bit more trepidation and a little bit more caution about leaping forward.” Atkins noted that both Ivy and Poppa are starting to develop an “awareness” of their connection, adding, “He’s gaining an awareness of like, ‘Well, what do I get? It looks good, but what does the inspection report say when you buy a home?’ That’s wisdom, and I think that that leads to a much more satisfying take when it actually happens. It won’t feel so jumped or rushed.” She continued: “These characters have earned this closeness. We’ve seen them grow on each other. We’ve seen them get on each other’s nerves. I like the pace that we’re continuing at. As far as how long it will take, I don’t know. I definitely think that there’ll be moments this season where you’ll be rooting for it to happen.” Poppa’s House airs on CBS Mondays at 8:30 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
Costa Rica authorities say carbon monoxide was found in New York Yankee star Brett Gardner’s family’s hotel room during an investigation into the death of his 14-year-old son, Miller Gardner. Costa Rica authorities say carbon monoxide was found in New York Yankee star Brett Gardner’s family’s hotel room during an investigation into the death of his 14-year-old son, Miller Gardner. Miller died on March 21 while he was vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. A preliminary cause of death was ruled to be asphyxia “after a possible intoxication after apparently ingesting some food” by Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigative Agency (OIJ) on March 24. However, Randall Zúñiga, General Director of the OIJ, said in a Monday, March 31, virtual communication to the press that Miller “may have died from inhaling” carbon monoxide. The OIJ official confirmed “high levels of carbon monoxide contamination” were detected in the family’s hotel room as part of testing carried out by a “specialized hazardous atmosphere team” from the Fire Department and forensic engineering performed by OIJ investigators. Yankees’ Aaron Judge Calls Brett Gardner a ‘Second Dad' After Son's Death “It’s also important to note that next to [the family’s] room there is a specialized machine room, from which it is believed some form of contamination may have reached the guest rooms, potentially causing the incident,” he theorized. Zúñiga said that the OIJ notified both the local Fire Department and the Ministry of Health in order for them to “take appropriate action regarding this confirmed contamination in the room.” He reiterated that OIJ was working in tandem with the FBI in the U.S. as they “wait for the final results from forensic toxicology.” Courtesy of Hunter Gardner/Instagram “Nonetheless, the initial investigative findings indicate that the incident was due to this contamination, with levels as high as 600 parts per million detected—when the appropriate level in this case should be zero,” Zúñiga said. The Gardners were staying at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort when Miller died. A hotel spokesperson responded to the OIJ’s carbon monoxide reports in a Monday statement to Us Weekly, saying, “We deeply regret the recent death of a minor at our facilities due to unconfirmed causes. We express our sincere condolences to the child’s family and loved ones in this time of immense grief. “We are respectfully and diligently collaborating with the Costa Rican judicial authorities, who have assumed the corresponding investigation,” the statement continued. “We trust that the forensic process will objectively, clearly, and conclusively clarify the real causes of this unfortunate incident. For the time being, the investigation will continue with the analysis of the various theories put forward by the judicial authorities.” The hotel representative added that Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort would “refrain from commenting on possible hypotheses or unconfirmed causes” while the investigation into Miller’s death is ongoing. “Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our guests and employees, and we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to the highest standards in the operation of our facilities,” the hotel said. “We appreciate your understanding regarding the sensitivity of this situation.” Restaurant Where Gardner Family Dined Days Before Miller's Death Responds New York Yankees star Brett, 41, and his wife, Jessica Gardner, made the tragic announcement earlier this month they had lost their 14-year-old son. “With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation,” they pair said in a joint statement. “We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st.” They continued: “Miller was a beloved son and brother and we cannot yet comprehend our life without his infectious smile. He loved football, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family and his friends. He lived life to the fullest every single day.” On Sunday, March 30, a spokesperson for the Judicial Investigation Agency’s Press Office told Us Weekly Miller’s body had been discharged but “out of respect for the family it has not been disclosed who it was released to.” Us subsequently confirmed that a body cannot be released from a morgue in Costa Rica unless a family member or a legal representative submits an official request. Miller’s autopsy is expected to be completed in approximately two months. The Gardner family have chosen a way to keep Miller’s memory alive during this tragic time. An obituary published in Charleston, South Carolina’s Post and Courier on behalf of the Gardners asked that donations be made in Miller’s honor to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, a non-profit that fulfills the wishes of young people battling life-threatening medical conditions. “The Gardners have seen the organization’s impact firsthand on numerous occasions and have always been deeply moved by the hope, strength, and inspiration each wish provides for children and families facing difficult times,” Miller’s obituary read. “In this time of unimaginable loss, the family prays that joy and healing will come to others who share their grief.” Hotel Owner Says Miller Gardner’s Death Has Led to 'Huge' Cancellations The family went on, “Miller’s time here with them was brief but his spirit will carry on forever through those who were impacted by the way he lived. Miller was so blessed with experiences and friendships in his 14 years, and he would want other children to have the opportunity to create their own wonderful memories.” Miller’s Pinewood Prep junior varsity baseball team from Summerville, South Carolina, made its return to the field for the first time since his death with a 5-0 win over Trinity Collegiate School last week. Pinewood Prep coach Phil Hartig told The Post and Courier that it was “good to get back out [there] on the field.” “These boys need to get together and be together. It’s going to help the healing process,” he added. A private celebration of life will be held in Miller’s honor at a later date. With reporting by Alejandra Araya Rojas

Matt Roloff was thrust into the limelight in 2006 alongside then-wife Amy Roloff and their four children — and Little People, Big World fans are still fascinated with the family’s dynamic. Matt and Amy welcomed twin sons Jeremy and Zach in May 1990, three years after tying the knot in 1987. They expanded their brood in 1993 with the birth of their daughter, Molly, and their fourth child, son Jacob, arrived in 1997. The couple made their reality TV debut on TLC in 2006 and 10 years later, Matt and Amy finalized their divorce after 28 years of marriage. While Little People, Big World documented their relationship highs and lows, it also shed light on Matt’s ups and downs with his kids. “Our family, we love each other,” Matt told Entertainment Tonight in May 2024 as tears welled up in his eyes. “There’s been ups and downs as you can imagine but I think — all in all — I think we’ve accomplished some good things.” Little People Big World’s Matt Roloff’s Family Farm Ups and Downs While Matt’s relationship with Molly has been kept somewhat quiet over the years — she keeps her life off social media when possible — his dynamic with his sons has been more visible. Scroll down to see Matt’s ebbs and flows with his kids both before and after his divorce from Amy: Reality TV Start When Little People, Big World premiered in 2006, Matt and Amy were in full-on parenting mode with four young children. Jacob Is the 1st to Walk Away Jacob is the youngest of Matt and Amy’s sons, but he was the first one to exit the TLC series. He announced his departure in 2014 when he turned 18. “This spring marks 10 years since I got my money from the show, I was on for over 10 years of my life,” Jacob recalled via Instagram in March 2025. “I was 18 and finally had the agency to not sign the contract, so I didn’t, and promptly left home mostly due to disgust for the show and reality TV in general.” While neither Matt nor Amy publicly took issue with Jacob leaving home at such a young age, he was away from them for a while before relocating back to Oregon and the family farm. Jeremy Steps Back From the Show TLC Jeremy married wife Audrey Roloff in September 2014 and the pair remained on the series until July 2018. Jeremy announced his exit via Instagram, revealing after 14 years on camera and 17 seasons with TLC he and his partner were done. “It has been an amazing run, and I can’t say thank you enough to all of you who have watched and supported us along the ride,” he shared. “We have the most loyal fans on TV and we appreciate every one of you. You are what made doing this so fun. We will still be supporting the family as they carry the #LPBW torch onward. This is a decision concerning Audrey and me specifically — the show much go on!” The couple, who share four children, have remained in the spotlight with their own YouTube series and podcast. 1 Big Happy Family Courtesy of Monique Serra Photography/Instagram Matt was reunited with all of his children in September 2018 — as well as his ex-wife — to celebrate Jacob marrying Isabel Roloff at their family farm. “What a celebration! Congratulations Jacob and Isabel on taking the ultimate step of love – total commitment,” Jeremy wrote via Instagram at the time, sharing a photo of the whole group back together. “The final step being living it out! So excited for you guys! Welcome to the family sister! We’re all married, and the family continues to grow!” Matt Has Jacob’s Back Courtesy of Jacob Roloff/Instagram Jacob claimed in December 2020 that he was “molested by an executive field producer” on Little People, Big World, after a “long grooming process” when he was younger. “By revealing this, I may be more fully understood and my perspective on issues such as child sexual abuse, child exploitation, and the collateral costs of reality television may be received more clearly,” Jacob explained via social media at the time, giving more insight as to why he distanced himself from the show years prior. “Although, I would have to add that this experience has not solely defined my point of view on any of these issues, nor has it defined my worldview in general. … I continue my own contemplation on the voyeurism involved in the entire enterprise of reality television — a massive spectacle of drama and pain and argument and invasion, with a little joy sprinkled over, that viewers watch completely disassociated from the complex humans inside the simplistic ‘characters’ they see on TV.” The Roloffs: A Comprehensive Guide to the Famous Family Jacob made it clear that he didn’t blame his loved ones for what happened to him. “It must finally be emphasized that all fault lies with the predator, and no fault lies with any of my family members,” he concluded. “I am certain that this is a positive moment for me, and another step toward a brighter future.” TLC responded to the allegations with a statement to Us, saying, “TLC was just informed about an alleged encounter that occurred years ago involving a third party connected to the production of Little People, Big World. We are saddened and troubled by this very serious allegation, and TLC will work cooperatively with the authorities. Our main focus remains on supporting the Roloff family during this very difficult time.” Matt, meanwhile, supported his son’s revelation. “Love you Jacob George Roloff … very proud!” he commented on Jacob’s post. The Farm Dispute Roloff Farms was the backdrop for much of the TLC series, even after Amy and Matt split. Amy decided to sell her portion of the land back to Matt after their divorce, and Matt claimed he wanted the kids to take over some day. However, in 2021, Matt chose not to sell part of the land to son Zach, which began a family feud. The following year, Matt claimed that neither Zach nor his twin brother, Jeremy, wanted to take control of the land. “My twin boys decided not to consider working together toward a possible joint sale,” Matt alleged via Instagram in May 2022, revealing he was listing 16 of the 108 acres for sale. “Both of them (along with their growing families) had moved on to other interests and investments.” Zach fired back at his father’s claim that same month writing via Instagram, “This post is a new shocking low of cowardice and manipulation of his family and kids for his own gain.” Zach and Matt tried to negotiate a deal during the show — but they couldn’t come to an agreement. Zach Distances Himself From Show — And Matt Getty Images (2) Zach married Tori Roloff in 2015, and the pair remained on the series until 2024. Zach announced via YouTube in February 2024 that they were “done” with the show and the “chapter has closed.” He hinted that his drama with his father played a major role in their exit. (The couple, who share three kids, also moved to Washington in October 2021 amid the family feud.) “We’ve made it pretty clear that we’re done with that chapter for multiple reasons,” Zach said in the YouTube video at the time. “Because we’ve made that pretty clear, they haven’t asked us back technically. This last cycle was rough between the family, the farm deal, and we were done with it. We’ve moved on.” Zach and Matt’s Relationship Is Not ‘Existent’ Zach revealed on the “Raising Heights” podcast in May 2024 that his relationship with his dad was “non-existent” after their battle over the farm. “The filming ended, you kind of just give yourself some space and then the show airs six months later and it kind of brings up some old wounds,” he shared. During the show’s season 25 finale, which aired that year, Zach explained, “When it comes to my dad, I don’t know … that ship all sailed. There’s not much of a relationship, just doing our own thing. Time might even it out, everything will be healed, it’ll just be different.” Matt, meanwhile, told Entertainment Tonight in May 2024 that he was hopeful for a reconciliation with Zach. He noted, “Time heals all wounds.” Jacob Keeps Dad’s Farm Dream Alive Jacob Roloff/Courtesy of Instagram Amid issues with Zach and the farm, Matt appeared to lean on Jacob for help with the land. According to Jacob’s wife, Isabel, they would love to “take over the farm” someday, but she said, “We can’t afford to fully buy it from Matt.” She shared via TikTok in March 2025, “We do love living here while we can and Jacob takes good care of it.” Jacob explained via his Instagram account that same month that he is “grateful” to live on Roloff Farms with his wife and son, “growing things and stewarding the land.” Roloff continued, “Certainly, it has been insightful these last 4 years in a lot of ways, both materially — learning equipment operation, my own growing style, the systems for farming, etc. — and retrospectively — ‘what is the farm, without a tv crew?’, ‘what can the farm be, without TV?’”

Tori Spelling made it clear she does not think it was right for the Oscars to omit Shannen Doherty from their In Memoriam segment. “I’m sure all of you definitely saw — as I saw, as the world saw — that it was heartbreaking that Shannen was left out of the In Memoriam segment at the Academy Awards,” Spelling, 51, said on a special Monday, March 31, episode of the late actress’ “Let’s Be Clear” podcast. “I have to say, it was shocking, truly shocking.” She continued: “Because to me, I discovered Shannen as a fan on the big screen. While she was so iconically known for her TV roles — which I want to honor her and go through her career today — but it’s really the big screen where her career just thrived. And she just lit up the big screen, going back to when she was a kid.” Spelling added that she “couldn’t believe” that her former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar was snubbed following her death last year. Doherty died in July 2024 after her lengthy battle with cancer. Jennie Garth Calls the Oscars ‘Messed Up’ For Snubbing Shannen Doherty “Honestly, when the In Memoriam stopped and she hadn’t been included, my heart dropped. It sank,” she confessed. “And it sank because I was like, ‘What? It’s such a miss.'” Spelling acknowledged that she knows there’s so many people in the entertainment industry and that the Oscar’s segment time is limited, she wished that Doherty was given a moment of recognition on the show. (Doherty was listed as one of the names that Hollywood lost in 2024-2025 on the official Academy website. The Academy has not addressed their decision to not include Doherty in its broadcast.) Vinnie Zuffante/Archive Photos/Getty Images “I just think when someone so iconic to fans across the world passes and they’re not remembered for their legacy and the great work they did, I just think it’s shocking,” she said. “And personally a little triggering to me because this is the third person that I love has been left out.” The other two loved ones Tori was referring to are her father, Aaron Spelling, who died in 2006 and Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Luke Perry, who passed away in 2019 due to a stroke. Tori Spelling’s Emotional Reaction to Death of Friend Shannen Doherty “The year my dad passed, I remember he was left out of it. And then, ironically, the year that Luke Perry passed, he was left out of it.” Spelling shared. “But it’s not like Shannen could have been an oversight. It just felt for all of us watching that loved her and loved her work, it felt like not only was she robbed, but we were robbed.” Spelling is not the only one who called out the Academy for snubbing Doherty. Fellow 90210 costar Jennie Garth also referred to the decision as “messed up.”

Jill Duggar Dillard is looking back on a “beautiful” Saturday from 11 years ago. On Saturday, March 29, Jill, 33, shared a few photos via Instagram from the day her husband Derick Dillard proposed. “#mushyalert Throwback to 11 years ago today, on a beautiful Saturday in the not-so-small-town square in Bentonville, Arkansas when I said, ‘Yes!! Totally!!’ to spending the rest of my life with the man of my prayers and dreams! ,” Jill captioned her post. “I couldn’t be more thankful to have @derickdillard by my side through the ups and downs of life! LYSM babe! .” Jill shared that she and Derick, 36, filmed the proposal more than once so that “the crew had everything they needed from all the camera angles.” Jill Duggar and Husband Derick Dillard’s Relationship Timeline The couple’s 2014 engagement was featured on an episode of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting at the time. In her caption, Jill noted that there were some hiccups on the day they were meant to redo their engagement for filming. “Also, when we initially walked toward the square, the people helping keep the square cleared for our film shoot, didn’t know we were the couple they were supposed to let in, so at first they said, ‘I’m sorry, there’s a film shoot happening right now, so we can’t let you on the square for a minute,’” she wrote. “But they let us pass once we let them know we were part of the shoot.” She concluded, “I didn’t know exactly where Derick was gonna propose, but had made him narrow it down to the month and by that time pretty much knew it would be sometime that day.” After their engagement in April 2014, the pair tied the knot in June of that same year in her hometown of Springdale, Arkansas. Jill Duggar Shares New Pregnancy Photos Captured Before Stillbirth At the time of their engagement, Jill shared in a statement, “”When my dad first introduced Derick and I [remotely], we spent hours texting, calling, and talking on Skype while 8,000 miles away from each other. And when we finally met in person in Nepal, we knew within days that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.” Since their marriage in 2014, the couple has welcomed three children: sons Israel, 10, Samuel, 7, and Freddy, 2. On March 19, Jill honored the one year anniversary of her daughter Isla’s stillbirth. (Jill was four months pregnant at the time.) She wrote via Instagram, “We are so grateful for all those not pictured who wrapped their arms and prayers around us and continue to provide us with support as we walk this road nobody ever wants to walk.”

Love Island USA’s Serena Page couldn’t hide her excitement after learning Ellen Pompeo was a fan of her romance with Kordell Beckham. “I literally screamed,” Serena, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly at Billboard’s Women in Music event on Saturday, March 29. “I screamed because I quoted her in my intro to the show. Love her down. I love you, Ellen.” On the March 18 episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Pompeo, 55, said she was in the middle of binging season 6 of Love Island USA. “Serena and Kordell, that’s my season. Those are my peeps. Love them,” the Grey’s Anatomy actress shared. “Literally wanna get invited to their wedding. They’re so adorable.” ‘Love Island USA’ Season 6 Couples Detail Plans to Date Outside the Villa On the Peacock dating reality show, viewers are able to watch Serena develop feelings for Kordell, 22. Although the reality stars faced some hurdles while filming in Fiji — partly due to the show’s always dramatic Casa Amor twist — the duo ended up winning season 6. They remain together as well as fellow contestants Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi and JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez. “When I saw [Ellen’s comments], I was like, ‘No way!’” Serena recalled to Us. “And she said, ‘I’m her peep.’ So you know what? We’re peeps, and she will be invited to the wedding.” Presley Ann/Getty Images for Bumble With June marking one year since Serena and Kordell first appeared on Love Island USA, the pair are enjoying the next chapter of their love story after representing Black love on reality TV. “As someone who grew up watching reality TV and I hadn’t seen much of Black love on TV, did I go in there and think that that would happen? Not at all,” Serena explained at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. “I did not think that would happen, but I’m so grateful and blessed that I am in that. I found me such an amazing Black man who loves me down.” While Serena isn’t against doing more reality TV, she is more interested in getting into acting and scripted projects going forward. She also won’t stop enjoying quality time with her main man as they continue to build a life together — and serve as each other’s biggest cheerleaders. How Do 'Love Island' Winners Spend Their Prize Money? Us Investigates “We do a lot of things together,” she shared. “We’re honestly each other’s supporters because we kind of both know what we’re going through right now. Anytime I have anything, I’m like, ‘babe.’” Stream old episodes of Love Island USA anytime on Peacock. With reporting by Mariel Turner

Blake Lively tried her hand at doughnut making as she got behind-the-counter at Rise Doughnuts in Wilton, Connecticut — and she was joined by a major Food Network star. “Never in my life have I tasted anything quite like @risedoughnut,” Lively, 37, wote via her Instagram Story on Monday, March 31, alongside a video of the sweet treats. “I would travel far and wide for these things. And maybe even get up at 5 a.m. on a Sunday to work there.” In another clip, Lively held out a Boston Cream-flavored donut that glistened in the light. “I must know what this donut’s skincare routine is,” she quipped, setting the video to James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful.” A third video featured Lively donning an apron and gloves as she filled donuts with a cream center. The Gossip Girl alum laughed as she stood next to Chopped winner Hugh Mangum. Courtesy of Blake Lively/Instagram “Earning my keep filling our concoction together this week: bourbon rhubarb cream cheese donut,” she wrote. “And yes that is THE @hugh_mangum of BBQ Brawl, winner of Chopped and my daughter’s favorite fact: friend of Ashley from Bake Squad. He does it all. SO WELL.” Lively, who shares four children with husband Ryan Reynolds, also shared a video of doughnuts being dipped in icing. “I am a donut stan account,” she joked. Courtesy of Blake Lively/Instagram The Another Simple Favor star also shared a pic of the empty kitchen at 10 p.m. the night prior to baking, with ingredients spread across the countertops. By 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Lively was seen behind-the-counter of the shop. “How I spring break,” she captioned the snaps. Before her behind-the-scenes snaps, Lively shared a pic of her own culinary creation via her Instagram Story on Saturday, March 28. “Baking with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car,” Lively wrote, adding a “this is what my happy place looks like” sticker to her upload and one that read, “TBD.” Lively’s outing comes amid her ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. Lively made headlines in December 2024 when she filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and conducting a “social manipulation” campaign to ruin her reputation. Blake Lively Trolls Her ‘Balanced Breakfast’ on 'It Ends With Us' Set Baldoni, 41, denied the allegations and fired back in his own lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, 48, and her publicist Leslie Sloane. Lively, Reynolds and Sloane have since all filed motions to be removed from Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit. While a trial is scheduled for March 2026, attorney and legal analyst Dina Doll — who is not affiliated with the case — shared her opinion on whether Lively or Baldoni had a stronger case. “My professional opinion, Blake Lively has a stronger case. All of Justin Baldoni’s arguments about fame and control don’t really refute her claim of sexual harassment,” Doll shares in the new ID documentary In Dispute: Lively vs. Baldoni, which premiered in the U.S. on Monday. “Those allegations, the improvising of the kissing, talking about pornography, regardless of where your workplace is, those seem to be a pretty strong basis for a claim of sexual harassment.”

My idea of the perfect outfit? A slimming, figure-flattering something that makes you feel like the hottest version of yourself. While there are tons of tops on the market, not all of them have the same sleek effect — some even highlight the areas you’re hoping to hide! That’s why I went on a search for the best slimming styles and found 15 amazing options worth ordering from Amazon. Slimming tops don’t always have to be boring and expensive, and you don’t have to settle for a design that’s basically shapewear in disguise. In fact, it’s mostly about the little details and playing around with proportion. Consider straight necklines and shirts with flutter sleeves to give your arms a slender appearance. Worried about your midsection? Pick up tops with smoothing material or even opt for slightly cropped fits that won’t add extra bulk around the tummy. Alternatively, if you’re hoping to make your hips look less wide, flowy tops and tunics are your best bet. Regardless of which area is a pain point for you, shop 15 of my favorite slimming tops, ahead. Now you can feel and look like your best self just in time for the warmer weather! The 15 Best Slimming Tops From Amazon 1. Puffed Perfection: This puffed sleeve top instantly made its way into my cart. The soft jersey knit fabric is long and stretchy, so you won’t have to worry about tugging on your clothes, while the eye-catching puff sleeves bring eyes upward and create a causal “dressy” look when you want a no-fuss OOTD. 2. Sleek Athleisure: Although slightly cropped, this racerback top gives an all-over smooth appearance — especially along the midsection. Crafted from another popular brand’s butterluxe fabric, it’s breathable and soft against the skin, and the double lining ensures it won’t be see-through. 3. Button-Down Vest: This classy vest can be worn for important meetings and after-work drinks. It’s crafted with a stylish square neck to flatter the bust area and features stunning gold buttons and decorative flap pockets for an elegant appearance. The flared bottom is also flattering for those with wider hips. 4. Striped and Slimming: The Amazon Essentials top is a favorite with shoppers since it’s versatile and can be worn for any season. The 3/4 length sleeves cover your arms and the fitted silhouette somehow makes people appear thinner. “I don’t know what the magic is to how they designed this shirt, but it fit perfectly and was slimming,” one customer wrote. 5. Master of Disguise: The Petal & Pup Clara Top may not seem like it possesses any slimming benefits, but its sleeveless design makes the arms and chest look sleek and toned. These Slimming Summer Pants Look Amazing on Larger Legs 6. Flirty Ties: This everyday shirt features adorable ties that will add a sweet touch to your outfit, while the oversized fit conceals bloating and larger midsections. 7. Cap Sleeves for Spring: I own Tankaneo’s under-$20 T-shirt in multiple colors, and the cap sleeves combined with the loose fit instantly slims my arms and hips. The piece is also soft and breathable — perfect for the upcoming summer heat. 8. A Corset Bodysuit: The Toile De Jouy-inspired bodysuit includes a luxe print that instantly nails the rich mom aesthetic. However, it’s the corset design that’s a highlight — not only is it on-trend, but it’ll hold you in and is subtly sexy when paired with skirts, jeans, or trousers. 9. The Sweetest of Them All: This sweetheart neckline top is a staple for your spring wardrobe. Made of 100% cotton, it’s breathable, lightweight and stylish. The neckline also creates an optical illusion to make you look longer and leaner. 10. Asymmetrical Beauty: Regardless of your body type, this shirt will make you feel confident. It features an asymmetrical split hem that drapes over jeans or trousers, and the ruching hides any lumps or bumps in the stomach area. 11. A Flowy Blouse: When you’re trying to look lighter, opt for a flowy top that conceals a variety of problem areas. This pick includes a chiffon overlay, drawing attention away from the bust and midsection. Plus, it’s breezy and lightweight enough to be worn in the warm spring sun. 12. Anything but Basic: The Zesica Ribbed V-Neck T-Shirt is so popular that over 600 shoppers have purchased it this month. Shoppers appreciate the trendy ribbed material that doesn’t leave them constricted, along with the addition of a preppy collar. 13. Tunic Top: Those aiming for a slim appearance should also consider loose tunic tops. This solid color option is stretchy, lightweight and comfortable, and the lightweight crewneck design accommodates larger busts. 14. A Rich Mom Pick: When you want to feel like a rich mom, reach for this top. The pretty mesh butterfly sleeves conceal the arms while the breezy bottom slightly drapes over your jeans. 15. Best for Work: When you have to head to the office, this shirt makes it easy to feel and look your best. Featuring a seasonal floral print, the 3/4 sleeves and pleated back put a casual, comfortable spin on business-ready attire. Snag the same design in 24 colors and prints. 18 Loose Dresses That Are More Slimming Than Bodycon Styles Us Weekly has affiliate partnerships. If that’s not proof that Lipa’s one of the most badass celebs to walk this earth, then we don’t know what is! Kim Delaney has faced a lot of highs and lows over the years. Delaney got her start in Hollywood on All My Children. After appearing on the soap for three years, Delaney joined the cast of NYPD Blue as detective Diane Russell, a character who struggled with alcoholism. Much like her character, Delaney also suffers from the disease. In 2002, Delaney was arrested under the suspicion of drunk driving. She pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years of probation, fined and ordered to take a defensive driving course. The following year, she reportedly checked into a rehabilitation center. Despite seeking treatment, Delaney continued to publicly struggle. In March 2025, Delaney made headlines after she was arrested on a charge of felony assault following an altercation with partner James Morgan. Keep scrolling to look back on Delaney’s ups and downs: Her Big Break Delaney’s first job in Hollywood was playing teen Jenny Gardner Nelson on All My Children. She was on the long-running soap from 1981 to 1984 and earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. ‘NYPD Blue’ Success Courtesy of Kim Delaney/Instagram When Delaney’s character was introduced on NYPD Blue in 1995, it was meant to be a small guest star role. However, she was later added as a main cast member. She was nominated for an Emmy three times and took home the award in 1997. Drunk Driving Incidents In 2002, Delaney was arrested in Malibu, California, on suspicion of drunk driving after refusing to take a breathalyzer test. She pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years’ probation, fined, and ordered to take a defensive driving course. Despite going to rehab in 2003, Delaney made headlines again in 2005 after she lost custody of her son. Delaney allegedly endangered his life by forcing him to ride with her when she drove while intoxicated. Her son testified in court that the instance had happened multiple times. Incoherent Speech Courtesy of Kim Delaney/Instagram In 2011, Delaney spoke at an event in Philadelphia that honored former Defense Secretary Robert Gates. When the actress took the podium, she was reportedly rambling. “I’ve seen soldiers come home with painful life altering injuries borne of their time and service,” she said. “I’ve attended numerous military funerals, including that of my best friend’s son.” Delaney also brought up her time on the series Army Wives. “It’s all make believe. I do that as a job. It’s make believe,” she said. “I have the luxury to do all of this on a television show.” Delaney was subsequently escorted off stage. A local CBS outlet reported that the event’s teleprompter was malfunctioning and Delaney seemingly went off-script which led to her struggling to deliver the speech. The following year, Delaney publicly addressed the incident. “I wasn’t feeling great [and] there were technical problems,” she said to Entertainment Weekly in 2012. “I was prepared, but it didn’t come out that way. It was like the perfect storm for something to go wrong. And then it goes viral! There’s just nothing you can do [but] deal with it, right?” Hit and Run Lawsuit In January 2024, Delaney was sued by a man named Dzhamal Badalov for allegedly crashing into him on his motorcycle while driving in Los Angeles back in 2022. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly at the time, Badalov claimed that Delaney was “swerving through the streets” and “driving erratically” before he was “thrown off his motorcycle and [landed] onto the street.” The filing stated that Delaney “appeared intoxicated” and allegedly attempted to drive away after the crash. After being stopped by bystanders, she called someone on her phone, who allegedly suggested Delaney pay him off rather than call the cops. Badalov claimed he refused payment, and Delaney allegedly fled the scene. In June 2024, Delaney was ordered to mediation and given a deadline of May 2025, per Radar Online. If a settlement is not reached, a jury trial is scheduled for September 2025. Felony Arrest Michael Loccisano/Getty Images for DirecTV Us confirmed in March 2025 that Delaney was arrested and charged with felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury, following a domestic dispute with her partner, James Morgan. Morgan was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Morgan was released from jail while Delaney remained behind bars at the time. Us reached out to Delaney’s reps for comment but did not hear back immediately.

As soon as I book fun travel plans, I start strategizing my outfits. For my first beach trip of the season, I thought of nearly everything — new swimwear, lightweight dresses and comfy sandals. But, I failed to account for one important item: A swimsuit cover-up. I lucked out with a friend on the trip that had an extra style that I could borrow. After trying it on, I ran straight to Amazon to purchase it for myself. Except I didn’t just buy one, I ordered three different colors. Sure, call me an overachiever, but considering it’s on sale today for just $30, I couldn’t help myself. See it! These Affordable and Spring-Ready Tops Are Bound to Sell Out — Shop Our Under-$20 Picks The crochet design is lightweight and comfortable. It offers coverage without feeling too heavy or hot, and it’s made from 100% acrylic material that dries quickly. I wore my friend’s style during an island hopping excursion and made the mistake of sitting in the front of the boat. I was soaked within 10 minutes. I let it air dry in the sun and it was as good as new by the time we reached our first stop. Because it’s a cover-up and not a traditional dress, the crochet style is see-through. However, it still offers plenty protection from the sun and elevates the classic beach look from casual to effortlessly cool. Choose from several sizes, including small to 2XL, and dozens of different colors. I can’t wait to mix and match mine with contrasting swimwear to make it pop underneath the crochet. See it! Over 1,500 shoppers were similarly impressed with the cover-up and left perfect reviews. One customer called it a “great dupe to a designer” version, adding the “material is light but not cheap quality.” Another added that it’s “lightweight, breathable, and perfect for those hot summer days.” They gushed over the “intricate crochet details” and wrote that it’s “even prettier in person than in the pictures.” “I also love how versatile it is; I can wear it over my swimsuit or even as a casual dress for a beachside lunch,” they added. Finding a deodorant that actually does its job shouldn’t feel like an impossible task. Some formulas smell amazing but leave you sweating through your top by lunchtime. Others keep you dry but come with a scent that’s, well, aggressively “fresh.” And then there are the ones that vanish halfway through the day, making you wonder why you even bothered. Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist Deodorant solves every issue you’ve had with picks of the past. It’s gentle, long-lasting, combats sweat and smells like luxury — think warm sandalwood, soft florals and a touch of powder. The only downside? The price. At $32, it’s definitely a splurge — but during Macy’s VIP sale, you can snag it for 15% off (with code VIP), bringing it down to $27. See it! Get the Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant for just $27 at Macy’s with code VIP! This Vanilla Bliss Deodorant Makes You Smell Good Everywhere — Yes, Everywhere Ok, maybe that’s still a little steep for deodorant, but can you really put a price on smelling amazing all day? Reviewers certainly don’t think so. One fan said, “Glides on smoothly without leaving any residue, This deodorant smells very fresh and clean and lasts all day.” Another admitted, “I would never tell anyone what I paid for deodorant, but it is well worth it.” One shopper even compared it to other brands on the market, telling others to “stop” messing with competitors. “Secret, Dove, Degree, Lume, Suave and all the deodorant out there — [shop] Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist’s entire line, including deodorant, is OUTSTANDING. My armpits never been so happy [or] so calm! Imagine this: A beautiful spa bath, freshly shaved armpits, apply cashmere mist deodorant by Donna Karan. . . soo awesome. 3 days later, 3 showers later, I have not reapplied the deodorant, It lasts through showers. Netflix’s hit movie The Life List introduced a whole new generation to The Ting Tings’ 2008 banger “That’s Not My Name.” Released on Friday, March 28, The Life List stars Sofia Carson as a grieving young woman, Alex, who goes on an unexpected quest following her mother’s death. Alex embarks on a road trip to complete a list of life goals she originally wrote as a 13-year-old, in order to access a mystery inheritance left by her late mom. Along the way, Alex jams out with her family’s lawyer, Brad (Kyle Allen), and his girlfriend Nina (Maria Jung) to “That’s Not My Name” — with the banger becoming an anthem for Alex that recurs throughout her journey. Keep scrolling for a look back at the history of “That’s Not My Name” and how the cast of The Life List felt about the track below: TV Shows That Feature Taylor Swift's Music in Pivotal Moments The Song “That’s Not My Name” was the debut for British indie pop duo Katie White and Jules De Martino in 2007 when it was released as a double A-side single with “Great DJ.” It didn’t get much attention at first but was re-released in 2008 to much greater success. The group couldn’t have asked for a better debut, as the rerelease of “That’s Not My Name” entered the British pop charts at No. 1 in May 2008. It only held the top spot for a week before falling down the charts in favor of Rihanna‘s “Take a Bow” hitting No. 1 across the pond. “That’s Not My Name” cracked the Top 40 in the U.S. — hitting No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 — but was certified Gold with sales of over 500,000 copies. The track received an additional boost of exposure in 2022 as part of a viral TikTok trend that intentionally misidentified some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Will Smith, Alicia Silverstone and Drew Barrymore are among the stars who took part in the trend. Mark Holloway/Redferns The Meaning White and De Martino have previously suggested the general public misinterpreted the meaning behind “That’s Not My Name.” White was once quoted as saying the song was basically her “ranting about [her] frustrations with the record industry.” While the pounding beat and relentless repetition of names may fool listeners into thinking it’s a frivolous party jammer, White told The Irish Examiner in 2010 that the track is “a really sad song” about the unfair comparisons that artists often face. “It’s empowering, but we’ve all had a point in our lives where we felt that s***, that we’re useless at everything and that we weren’t memorable,” White explained. “Everybody feels like, ‘I don’t know what my place is and I can’t seem to find myself,’ at some point, and I don’t think a lot of people saw that with the song.” Purple Hearts' Sofia Carson Defends Netflix Film Amid Thematic Criticism White went on: “Most people probably thought it was about some boy in a bar who has forgotten your name — but it really wasn’t about that. It was about feeling invisible and unconfident.” In 2022, the track resurfaced when it was used in a TikTok trend poking fun at various celebrities. At the time, White and De Martino expressed their surprise and appreciation that “That’s Not My Name” had reached a new audience. “Early in our career, someone said, ‘You’ve written one of those songs that’s just going to keep on going.’ And they were right, it just keeps coming around,” De Martino told Variety at the time. ‘The Life List’ In Netflix’s latest hit movie, “That’s Not My Name” recurs during tough moments for Alex as inspiration to keep pushing forward on her cathartic road trip. One particularly recurrence of the song sees Alex and Brad rocking out in an empty bar — before realizing how much they’d bonded throughout their road trip. Carson and Allen actually landed their starring roles in The Life List by auditioning with this scene. “It was so fun to watch them dance to that Ting Tings song at the audition — instant chemistry, instant connection,” producer Liza Chasin told Tudum. With 'Weak Hero’ a Top 10 Netflix Show, Watch These 3 Great Series Now Carson and Allen are both trained dancers, so they were able to put their backgrounds to use in one of The Life List’s particularly resonant moments. “It was really fun to dance like Alex and Brad in a completely uninhibited, free, and kooky way,” Carson revealed. “I love that scene, and that was such a beautiful memory. I think so many people have had nights like that.” The Life List is streaming on Netflix.

Washington Mystics forward Shakira Austin got honest about the realities of life on social media — and why the drama between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese only made things worse. “We’re always going to feel like we have to deal with ignorant people,” Austin, 24, exclusively told Us Weekly via her partnership with Tylenol. “Unfortunately, as women we’re just on the back end of that stick. We just keep fighting and trying to find our real communities, trying to find people who support us. In a sense, just ignoring those trolls.” Austin added, “It’s gotten worse in the past year for sure. You know, the whole Caitlin and Angel thing. It’s getting pretty bad.” Clark, 23, and Reese, 22, both rookies last season, are two of the biggest names in women’s basketball. Their rivalry began in college — when Clark was at Iowa and Reese was at LSU — and has continued into the professional ranks. Stephen A. Smith Tell Caitlin Clark Detractors to 'Grow Up' Many have posited that Clark, who is white, has received extensive media coverage and attention due to her race, while Reese, who is Black, has not been treated with the same mainstream fanfare. Putting the Clark-Reese debate aside, Austin said dealing with hate on social media has been especially upsetting “in a space that’s so inclusive like the WNBA.” “It’s getting tiring seeing the same annoying comments,” Austin admitted. “I get calls from my Dad all the time. He’s like, ‘Oh my God, I want to say something to this little troll so bad.’ I’m like, ‘Dad, no. Just ignore them.’” Shakira Austin. Shannon Finney/Getty Images She added, “Honestly with the growth of the game, we’re unfortunately dealing with even more of a fight with accepting us and understanding us.” Austin’s promising WNBA season has been plagued with injuries, including hip surgery in December 2023 to replace a labrum tear and a sprained ankle that greatly limited her 2024 season. Sophie Cunningham Jokes Caitlin Clark Is the WNBA’s Taylor Swift With a clean bill of health going into the 2025 WNBA season, Austin is optimistic about what her on-court future holds, thanks in large part to the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Athlete Recovery and Care Commitment Grant, sponsored by Tylenol. The grant aims to “help women athletes overcome pain and recover from setbacks to their career caused by injury, ultimately helping them achieve their career goals,” as well as helping athletes with “financial hardships.” “This was my first serious injury that I’ve ever had to deal with in my career,” Austin said of her hip surgery. “This really came at a perfect time when I was trying to get back to one-hundred percent. I’ve gotten pretty close. I’m crossing almost a year post-op. Just being able to use as many resources for not only my physical health, but mental health. This grant will allow me to tap into other fields that the WNBA might not be able to provide solely.” Austin and the Mystics open the 2025 WNBA season on May 16 against the Atlanta Dream.
